I am currently a senior at Texas State University and I will be graduating this December. My major is Digital Media Innovation with a minor is Art &Design. I transferred to Texas State from San Antonio College where I received my Associates in Art.
I joined Texas State’s official radio station, KTSW, in my second semester and have continued till now. I started out as on-air DJ and music reviewer in Spring 2017. I continued my journey with KTSW the following semester in Fall 2017 where I became an assistant program director, social media contributor, and promotions team member. That semester I also was a speciality show program producer where I produced my own on-air show called Enter the Vortex. Enter the Vortex encompasses all the music I love from surf rock, lo-fi, 80’s and everything in between. The following semester I was a social media contributor, junior production assistant and continued producing Enter the Vortex. In my final semester at Texas State I have decided to focus on productions and making my last semester of Enter the Vortex epic.
This past summer I had the opportunity to work at the Southwest School of Art as their Digital Media Intern. Throughout my time there I was able to introduce a new interview series on their blog with faculty, students and staff. I also proposed, shot and edited a video for their Summer Arts Studio Classes for children between ages 6-17. Which aided them in received a substantial funding from Rackspace to continue their program.
I have gained more than I’ve ever expected from being a student at Texas State University. I am confident that with my education, work experience and student involvement has given me the skills I need to pursue a career. I plan to either seek a career in audio, videography or coding.
